We're in between riffles on smooth water making excellent time downriver.
The water is rising steadily and the current is getting noticeably stronger. As the river rises
it submerges the riffles and gets smoother. This was the
most enjoyable part of the trip - moving at a good clip seeing the bottom speed by
under us in utter silence, with not even the sound of the paddles. Ahead, Lovers' Leap
shows a distinctive stone face.
