Lunch finished, it's onward and upward upriver. Here, the First-and-Only
Mate relaxes from her role of forward engine and takes a turn as lookout. Although the
water is mostly glassy, the occasional limb and even log have been coming downstream at us. Also,
up ahead where the river narrows, we can see shallow water with rocks and riffles.
