Into the rock garden, The deceptively glassy water is moving
fast and the current smashes us into a boulder. The impact is high above the
waterline on the port bow. The wood flexes, the whole boat quivers and and bounces
back. The flexible okoume plywood absorbs the shock and the only damage is a superficial
scrape to the epoxy. It really made me glad that I had spent the money on premium-grade
marine plywood instead of using DYI-store luan.
Once the excitement is over, we take the now-exposed current into account and ghost through the beauty of the natural garden. Here, the F&O mate enjoys the view. |
